Meet the Santa Clara Team Behind Servo Garage Doors Santa Clara
We’re the crew that shows up when your garage door won’t budge at 6 a.m. or when you’re staring at a snapped torsion spring and wondering if dinner plans are shot. Every technician here works under The Haven Standard, which means a written price before we touch a wrench and a photo record before we leave. We’re local, we’re named, and we’re the ones who answer the phone.
Our People
Marcus Deller, Owner & Lead Technician
I’ve been running Servo Garage Doors Santa Clara since 2015, when I left a bigger outfit because I got tired of watching customers sign blank work orders and find out the price after the job was done. I started this shop on one rule: the customer sees the failed part before anyone quotes a replacement. That rule became Clause 4 of The Haven Standard, and it’s still how we operate every day in Santa Clara.
My specialty is torsion spring systems on older track configurations, the kind you see in the ranch homes off El Camino Real and in the neighborhoods near Santa Clara University. I hold a C-61/D-49 Contractor License, and I keep it on the truck, not buried in a filing cabinet. When I’m not working, I’m usually restoring a 1978 F-150 that has spent more time on jack stands than it has on the road. The truck teaches patience. Some days the garage door teaches it too.
Danny R., Senior Installer
Danny joined us in 2019 after eight years with a commercial door company in San Jose, where he spent most of his time on 14-foot warehouse doors and loading dock equipment. He brought that heavy-duty mindset to residential work, which means he levels a track the way a carpenter levels a door frame: once, correctly, and with a laser. His specialty is full door replacements on homes with non-standard rough openings, the kind you find in the Eichler-influenced builds around Sunnyvale-Santa Clara border.
Danny is Clopay Master Authorized and has completed Amarr’s advanced weatherseal training, which matters more than you’d think in Santa Clara’s climate. The marine layer rolls in thick some mornings, and a poorly sealed bottom astragal will let moisture creep under the door and rot the jamb in two seasons. He checks it with a flashlight. Every time. Off the clock, Danny coaches a U-12 soccer team in Cupertino and has developed strong opinions about halftime orange slice distribution.
Teresa V., Service Coordinator
Teresa is the voice you hear when you call (650) 668-1647 at 11 p.m. because your opener logic board fried and your car is trapped in the garage. She’s been with us since 2017, and before that she spent six years dispatching for a commercial HVAC company, so she knows how to match a technician to a job based on parts on the truck, traffic patterns, and whether the call involves a Wayne Dalton TorqueMaster spring tube that requires a specific winding tool.
Teresa holds the dispatch board for Santa Clara and the surrounding 15 cities we cover, and she’s the one who sends the “on the way” text with the technician’s name and ETA. She also handles the photo record review before it goes to the customer, checking that every image has a timestamp and a clear view of the component in question. She lives in the Rivermark area, knows which streets flood in heavy rain, and keeps a spreadsheet of local permit office hours because Santa Clara’s building department closes early on Fridays. Her dog, a rescue pit mix named Brakes, has appeared in at least three customer photo records by accident.
Jin K., Apprentice Technician
Jin came to us in 2023 through a trade program at San Jose City College, where he finished first in his cohort for mechanical troubleshooting. He’s in his second year of apprenticeship, which means he’s cleared to handle cable replacements, roller swaps, and safety sensor realignments under supervision, and he’s building hours toward his own D-49 license. Marcus shadows him on torsion spring jobs, not because Jin doesn’t know the math, but because a wound spring stores enough energy to break a hand, and some lessons shouldn’t come from trial and error.
Jin’s emerging specialty is opener diagnostics on smart-home integrated systems, the LiftMaster myQ and Chamberlain Wi-Fi units that half of Santa Clara’s newer townhomes came with from the builder. He can trace a phantom “obstruction detected” error to a misaligned limit switch or a firmware glitch, and he knows when to call the manufacturer’s tech line instead of burning customer time on a guess. He commutes from Fremont on a motorcycle that he’s rebuilding himself, which he admits is “probably ironic for someone who fixes things that roll on tracks.”
One Standard, Every Job
Servo Garage Doors Santa Clara is independently owned and operated under The Haven Standard, a documentation and accountability system that connects ten home-service brands across California. What that means for you: Clause 1 guarantees a flat, written price and written scope before any work starts. Clause 4 requires the technician to photograph the failed part before quoting a replacement. The 365-Day Done Right Promise means if we don’t get it right, we come back and make it right, with terms you can read, not a handshake you have to trust.
The Haven Standard contributes the system. We contribute the license, the insurance, the trucks in Santa Clara, and the people on this page. Every photo record, every written warranty, every flat-price scope comes from this crew, documented and delivered before we leave your driveway. That’s how we’ve done 18,000 jobs since 2015, and that’s how we’ll do yours.
